Discuss:
how the word of God says the opposite of what you may be experiencing around you. How do you navigate, and how can you stand on God's word?
What are the two ways in which to change the atmosphere around you?
1. What would happen if you didn't renew your mind?
a. How do you get your mind and heart to agree to fulfill what Jesus has said and overcome the body/flesh/carnality?
b. If you don't reinforce what God has revealed through His word, then you miss the opportunity of doing what He wants to fulfill. How does that cause a delay in God's plan, and how do you move forward?
2. According to 2 Chronicles 5:13-14, how does proclaiming who God is and praising Him with worship change the atmosphere? What would happen if you did this? How would things be different if you didn't worship?
3. How could you change history if you were to all agree based on Matthew 18:19-20?
4. Pray with one another and for anyone with specific needs or prayer requests.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

DISCUSSION:
Wherever you live, God wants to come and change your atmosphere and environment. John was abandoned on an island called the Al Patmos. It was much like a giant prison, and God visited him. Jesus Christ came and spoke to him; he wrote the book of Revelation in a hostile environment. There were criminals on that island.
Think about Paul; he had amazing things happen to him his whole life. He went from shipwreck to famine to being beaten and in jail. Think of all the things that the apostles went through, yet they were in control of their environment. They created an environment, and they had angel visitations. They had many revelations, and things came to them.
Ephesians 4:23:
And be renewed by the spirit of your mind.
• There is a spiritual part of you, a psychological part of you, and a physical part of you.
• Paul talks about this in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, separating a person into three parts: spirit, soul, and body.
• The spirit is born again. That's the real you, the part that lives forever.
• You have a soul, which is your mind, will, and emotions. It's where we get the word psyche. It's Greek and comes from the word psychology.
• Then we have the body.
• The only part of you that's instantly changed is the spirit.
• We are born again, which means that old things have passed away, and everything has become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
• Your spirit is reborn, which means you will live forever in Heaven because you were born again.
• Something happens in your spirit that gives life to you (the life of God), and the old passes away.
RENEWING YOUR MIND
Romans 12:2:
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
• With the renewing of the mind, transformation happens by the word of God.
• A person has to be fully convinced.
• People often doubt and fear, and they oscillate in their beliefs, but your mind has to be changed or transformed by the word of God.
• Then you psychologically decide to believe what you've heard.
• Your heart is already changed because you accepted Jesus Christ, and you're born again (John 3:1-21).
• The warfare you face is when things try to exalt themselves above the knowledge of God. You have to bring them into captivity. (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Discuss how the word of God says the opposite of what you may be experiencing around you. How do you navigate, and how can you stand on God's word?
If you have a situation in your body, you can't deny that it's happening. You have the symptoms, and the fact is that something is wrong, and you need healing. You can't deny those things are happening in your body because they're there, but the truth is that there is a higher provision available for you through the blood of Jesus and through the process of what He went through. Jesus was punished, and Isaiah 53 talks about how He took stripes upon His back and took a beating so that we could be healed. It's part of the covenant.
Peter quotes Isaiah 53, in 1 Peter 2:24, and says, "... by His stripes; you were healed." When Jesus took the stripes upon His back, you were healed. That was before you were born. It happened long before any of us were born.
Here, we see the truth versus the facts. The fact is that you have the symptoms, but you have to decide what you're going to believe. You don't deny the facts; you just have to supersede them with the truth. The truth is actually at a higher level than the facts. Facts have to do with the concept of science.
Science in its purest form is just observation. Therefore, you observe it, then it appears to be a certain way, and you make statements about it. As it goes along, there's progressive support for it, and some of the facts turned out to not be true.
• God knows the absolute truth and reveals it through His word.
• You can change your atmosphere and environment by renewing your mind and allowing what's in your spirit and what's in the word of God to be prevalent and conquer you.
• You can be convinced in your mind.
• Then, when your mind sides with the truth, your spirit will be right there.
• Then you can speak to your body by acknowledging that these things are happening, but you believe what God has said, and you know that the provision has been made. Therefore, by His stripes, you were healed. That's the proper way to do it.
